Prime Minister Narendra Modi met his Canadian counterpart, Mark Carney, on Tuesday and discussed bilateral ties among other topics.
Whether the killing of pro-Khalistan activist Hardeep Singh Nijjar came up during the talks between the two leaders is not clear with PM Carney saying there is a judicial process underway.
When asked whether he mentioned the Nijjar case during his meeting with PM Modi, Carney said, “We discussed the importance of having the law enforcement dialogue, not just dialogue, cooperation directly, the importance of addressing transnational repression…There is a judicial process that’s underway, and I need to be careful about further commentary."
