The Coldplay concert at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts has already gone viral- thanks to ColdplayGate, the now-notorious kiss cam moment featuring Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and company’s HR chief Kristin Cabot. But amid the memes and marital speculation, another on-stage moment from the same night is now being widely shared on social media.

Chris Martin Calls Mumbai Couple On Stage
A newly surfaced video showed Coldplay frontman Chris Martin inviting an engaged couple from Mumbai onto the stage after spotting their sign in the crowd. The handmade poster read: “Just engaged, can we sing Magic together?" Chris Martin, amused and touched, called it “one of the best signs I’ve seen in the world." But the emotional moment took an awkward turn when Chris Martin mistakenly said, “Welcome to Canada!"- despite being in the United States. The crowd laughed and the singer quickly apologised to the couple for the mix-up.

Trying to smooth things over, Chris Martin then asked, “Are you engaged to each other?" When the couple confirmed, he quipped, “That’s better, we don’t need any surprises." The singer then sang ‘Magic’ with the couple, even tweaking a line to include their names and ended the performance by giving them a warm hug.

The Mumbai couple was invited on stage shortly after the infamous kiss cam segment where Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot were spotted cuddling and smiling before quickly ducking out of frame. That brief jumbotron moment has since exploded online, prompting speculation about their relationship, criticism over workplace ethics and even claims that Andy Byron’s wife has dropped his last name from her Facebook profile.
