Bihar Election Phase 1 Voting LIVE: 13.13% Voter Turnout Recorded Till 9 AM; Tejashwi, Samrat Among Early Voters

After casting his vote, Tejashwi Yadav shared a picture along with RJD leaders and former Bihar Chief Ministers Lalu Yadav and Rabri Devi and wrote on X, “Vote for change, for creating a new Bihar, for development, for quality education and better health & law and order, and for jobs and employment..”

Union Minister and LJP(RV) Chief Chirag Paswan said, “I urge everyone to exercise their Right to Vote. I would like it if Bihar witnessed record voting in the first phase today. After you (Congress) raise discrepancies or complaints about voting, the ECI brings in SIR, but you still have a problem even with that. If they have so much trust in the information they have, then they should approach the court.”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah took to X and urged people to vote in record numbers in the first phase of polling today.

“Each and every one of your votes will pave the way to prevent the return of jungle raj in Bihar, sustain good governance, and build a developed, self-reliant Bihar. Teach a lesson in this election to those who toy with the country’s security by providing protection to infiltrators and Naxalites.

Your vote will play a crucial role in restoring Bihar’s pride, along with providing modern education to every resident of the state, welfare for the poor, and employment opportunities for the youth,” he added in a post in Hindi.

Former Bihar CM and RJD leader Rabri Devi, and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav casted vote on Thursday. Speaking to media Devi wished luck to both her sons and said,”My best wishes to both my sons. Tej Pratap is contesting on his own. I am their mother. Good luck to both of them.”

Meanwhile, Tejashwi Yadav exuded confidence and said,”14 November ko nayi sarkaar banne wali hai. Badlaav kijiye, naya Bihar banaiye, nayi sarkaar banaiye (new government is coming to power on November 14. Bring change, build a new Bihar, form a new government).

Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan cast a vote as the voting is underway across 121 seats in Bihar.

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi urged everyone to ‘participate in the grand festival of democracy’.

“My dear brothers, sisters, mothers, and youth of Bihar! Today is the day to shape your future with your own hands. Come out in large numbers and participate in the grand festival of democracy. Vote for jobs, education, health, and a bright future for Bihar. Vote to protect your democracy, constitution, and right to vote,” she wrote on X.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and BJP candidate from the Lakhisarai constituency, Vijay Kumar Sinha, said, “I am also going to cast my vote. Everyone in Bihar has the opportunity to cast their votes. I appeal to every Bihari to come out and cast their votes in large numbers. Voting has started peacefully; I thank the Election Commission.”

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and BJP candidate from Lakhisarai constituency, Vijay Kumar Sinha, offered prayers at his residence.

A security personnel helped an elderly woman in coming to the polling booth, as she arrived at the booth to cast her vote in the first phase of the Assembly polls.

Wife of Nitin Nabin, Bihar Minister and BJP candidate from Bankipur, casted her vote and said,”Bihar should keep moving on the path of development, and I have cast my vote keeping the same in my mind. A good government will come to power in Bihar.”

People were seen standing in long queue at a polling booth in Vaishali as they waited for their turn to vote in the first phase of the Assembly polls.

After visiting a temple in Patna, former MP Surajbhan Singh said,”We sought the blessings of the Almighty. Today is ‘Mahaparv’. I appeal to the people of Bihar to display harmony today. Pehle vote tab jalpan.”

RJD candidate from Mokama, Veena Devi and her husband and former MP Surajbhan Singh offered prayers at a temple in Patna.

People have started voting across 121 seats in Bihar as voting started at 7 AM.

Voting for first phase of Bihar Assembly elections began at 7 AM today. Voting will be conducted on 121 seats in Phase 1.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday urged people of Bihar to vote with full enthusiasm ahead of the first phase of voting.

“Today in Bihar is the first phase of the festival of democracy. My appeal to all voters of this phase in the assembly elections is that they should vote with full enthusiasm. On this occasion, my special congratulations to all my young companions of the state who are going to cast their vote for the first time. Remember—first voting, then refreshments!,” he wrote on X.

Mock polling is currently being conducted ahead of voting in Samastipur.
