After Dhankhar's resignation, there is massive buzz that Nitish Kumar may succeed him as the next Vice President, which can significantly impact the upcoming Bihar elections.

After Jagdeep Dhankhar’s shocking resignation from the position of Vice President on Monday, there is massive buzz that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will take his place. BJP MLA from Bihar, Haribhushan Thakur Bachoul, joined the bandwagon by saying everyone wants to see Nitish Kumar as VP.
“What could be better than Nitish Kumar being made Vice President? Whether Nitish Kumar becomes the Vice President or not, everyone wants it," said Bachoul, who represents the Bisfi assembly constituency.
Several names are being circulated on social media as possible successors to Jagdeep Dhankhar, who stepped down citing health reasons on Monday. The decision left several political leaders, including those from the opposition, stunned.

Why Nitish Kumar’s Name Is Doing The Rounds?
The speculation around Nitish Kumar as the next Vice President began when political journalist Sameer Chougaonkar hinted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will appoint its own candidate for the upcoming Bihar elections and keep Nitish Kumar in the second-highest office of the country.
“Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is set to become the next Vice President of the country. In Bihar, the BJP will appoint its own Chief Minister for the elections. The JDU will have the Deputy Chief Minister," Chougaonkar posted on X.

Additionally, Bihar Minister Neeraj Kumar Singh Bablu, when asked about Nitish Kumar becoming the VP, said, “It is a good thing. If he becomes, then what is the problem with this?"
Some social media users are even guessing that while Nitish could be made VP, Dhankhar may be appointed as the President of BJP.
Nitish Kumar is Bihar’s longest-serving Prime Minister, having served in the position since 2005, except for a short break in 2014-15. He took the oath for a record ninth term in January last year after breaking ties with the opposition INDIA Bloc and rejoining the BJP-led Democratic Alliance (NDA).
