The country's largest private non-banking financial company (NBFC), Bajaj Finance, is targeting a consolidated loan book of ₹6.3–6.5 lakh crore by the end of FY27, while stepping up its use of artificial intelligence to drive customer acquisition and loan disbursals.
"In FY27, BFL on a consolidated basis is poised to deliver AUM of ₹6.3–6.5 lakh crore while sustaining its ROA, ROE, profitability and risk metrics," Vice Chairman and Managing Director Rajeev Jain told shareholders at the company's 39th Annual General Meeting.
Bajaj Finance's consolidated loan book stood at ₹5.46 lakh crore at the end of June 2026, growing 24% year on year and 7.25% sequentially, according to its June quarter earnings announced on Thursday.
Reflecting on the company's growth trajectory, Jain said Bajaj Finance had comfortably surpassed an earlier target of doubling its assets under management.
"At our 2022 AGM, when BFL crossed ₹2 lakh crore in AUM, we said we would double it within the next three years. We crossed ₹4 lakh crore comfortably in FY25," he said.
"What I keep telling our management team is that while it took us 15 years to reach ₹2 lakh crore, it took only three more years to double our AUM, while sustaining profitability, risk and controllership metrics. That's the power of consistent execution and compounding," he added.
The company is also placing artificial intelligence at the centre of its growth strategy. Jain said FY27 would be "an important year of AI transformation" for Bajaj Finance, with the senior management team investing significant effort in the initiative.
As part of that strategy, the company expects to disburse ₹12,000–14,000 crore of loans during FY27 through leads generated by AI.
During the June quarter alone, Bajaj Finance disbursed ₹3,068 crore of loans through AI-led initiatives. Of this, ₹2,551 crore came from leads generated by Voice and Text AI Bots, while the remaining disbursals were driven by leads identified through voice log processing.

The comments underscore Bajaj Finance's increasing focus on using AI not just to improve operational efficiency, but also as a meaningful driver of business growth as it pursues its next phase of expansion.
