India on Wednesday rejected “baseless allegations" made by Pakistan in connection with the bomb blast in Khuzdar district of Balochistan province, where six people, including children, were killed in a school bus blast.

“India rejects the baseless allegations made by Pakistan regarding Indian involvement with the incident in Khuzdar earlier today. India condoles the loss of lives in all such incidents," said Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal in an official statement.

“However, in order to divert attention from its reputation as the global epicenter of terrorism and to hide its own gross failings, it has become second nature for Pakistan to blame India for all its internal issues. This attempt to hoodwink the world is doomed to fail," it added.

India’s response came after five people, including three children, were killed and nearly 40 others injured after a school bus was targeted in a bomb blast in Pakistan’s Balochistan province today.

The incident took place in Khuzdar district when a bus transporting schoolchildren was hit by a suspected suicide car bombing. Authorities suspect the use of a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED), according to Pakistan’s Interior Ministry.

Without providing any evidence, Pakistan’s military and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif falsely accused “Indian terror proxies" of involvement in the attack.

Notably, tensions between India and Pakistan remain high after a four-day military confrontation that stemmed from a deadly terror attack in J&K’s Pahalgam last month, where terrorists linked to Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) gunned down 26 tourists.

Following this terror attack, India launched precise airstrikes under ‘Operation Sindoor’, targeting terror camps and infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Pakistan responded with drone and missile strikes, which were successfully repelled by India.

Meanwhile, no group has so far claimed responsibility for Wednesday’s attack in Balochistan, although suspicion is likely to fall on Baloch separatist factions active in the province like the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), or even Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which has staged deadly attacks in the province.

The blast comes amid ongoing instability in Balochistan, a region long plagued by insurgency. Ethnic Baloch groups have accused the federal government of resource exploitation and political marginalization, fueling unrest for more than two decades.
