Apple's latest MacBook Air models with the 3nm-based M3 chipset are now officially available for pre-order, starting at Rs 1,14,900. Here's what you need to know about them.

Apple on Monday expanded its M3-powered MacBook lineup by introducing the MacBook Air in 13” and 15” variants, powered with the 3-nanometer M3 chipset. Harnessing the power of the third-generation Apple silicon, the MacBook Air M3 gets an impressive 60% speed increase compared to its the now-discontinued MacBook Air M1, and a staggering nearly 13-fold improvement over the fastest Intel-powered MacBook Air.

These latest models come with better external display capabilities, allowing the connection of two external display panels even with the laptop lid closed. Additionally, users can experience improved Wi-Fi 6E connectivity and enhanced performance in professional-grade applications.

MacBook Air M3: Specifications and Features 

Buyers can customise their new MacBooks with the M3 chipset, featuring a 10-core GPU and support for 24GB of unified memory. Apple claims that despite the increased power and enhanced capabilities, the new MacBook models still deliver a claimed 18 hours of battery life, while working in tasks like photo and video editing. Furthermore, the MacBook Air M3 models now support hardware-accelerated mesh shading and ray tracing, providing a better gaming experience.

In terms of display, users get a vibrant 13.6-inch or 15.3-inch Liquid Retina display, with up to 500 nits of brightness. Additionally, a 1080P front-facing FaceTime HD camera facilitates high-quality video calls. The inclusion of the Touch ID system ensures quick and secure unlocking through biometric authentication.

MacBook Air M3 Price in India

Before delving into the pricing details, it’s worth noting that Apple has discontinued the MacBook Air M1, leaving the MacBook Air M2 as the entry-level laptop in Apple’s product lineup, now starting at Rs 99,900.

As for the prices, the MacBook Air M3 with the 13.6-inch display starts at Rs 1,14,900, while the 15.3-inch model begins at Rs 1,34,900. Both models offer customisation options for additional storage and RAM. Interested customers can pre-order these laptops, with sales set to commence on March 8. Both the 13-inch and the 15.3-inch models will be available in four colour ways: Midnight, Starlight, Space Grey, and Silver.
