Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The markets are trading from off the highs. The Nifty is trading with gains of around 50 points. The 50-stock index is trading just below the 24,850 mark. The Sensex index is trading around the 81,000 mark with gains of close to 300 points. The biggest gainers at the bourse are IT stocks, including Infosys, Wipro, Tech Mahindra and HCLtech.
Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Nifty index is trading in a range-bound manner early in the day. The 50-stock index is trading with gains of above 50 points. The Index is trading around the 24,850 mark. The Sensex index is inching closer to the 81,000 mark, with a surplus of 200 points compared to the previous day's closing.
The IT stocks and the Nifty IT index at large is the star so far, as the index is up 600 points. The Nifty Bank index is trading with gains of about 50 points.
The broader markets are under pressure, as the Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap are underperforming in comparison to marquee indices.
While Auto stocks did all the heavy lifting on Monday, today, it is the turn of IT stocks, including big IT names like Infosys, Wipro and Tech Mahindra, that are taking the lead.
Some of the biggest gainers among the Nifty 500 stocks are RailTel Corp, Engineers India, Action Construction, Intellect Design and JSW Infrastructure, among others.
