Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Nifty did cross 25,000 intraday on Wednesday, but could not hold on to those levels, eventually closing below that mark. The participation of the Nifty Bank would give the bulls some comfort, while IT continues to remain in focus ahead of the Infosys buyback board meeting.
Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Nifty heads into the weekly options expiry of the BSE contracts on the back of six days of gains, that has taken the index closer to 25,000, but not above it.
The Nifty did cross 25,000 intraday on Wednesday, but could not hold on to those levels, eventually closing below that mark. The participation of the Nifty Bank would give the bulls some comfort, while IT continues to remain in focus ahead of the Infosys buyback board meeting.
Auto stocks saw some profit booking but auto ancillaries will be in focus after reports of Mexico planning to impose 50% tariffs on goods from countries that do not have a trade agreement with them, including India. Also keep an eye on the export-oriented names like Avanti Feeds, Apex Frozen, textile names like Indo Count, and whether they see any follow-up buying after Wednesday's up to 20% rally.
Sustaining above 25,000 remains the key for the Nifty, which will bring Wednesday's high of 25,034 into play. The third day of higher highs and higher lows on the charts would mean the support now moves to Wednesday's low of 24,916.
