Errol Musk's remarks came during a CNN discussion on shifting US demographics and claims of white genocide, where he also defended South Africa's past and dismissed widely documented Apartheid oppression.

Errol Musk, father of tech billionaire Elon Musk, has stirred new controversy after claiming the United States is “doomed” if white Americans become a minority.
In a CNN interview, he bristled at the demographic projections during a conversation with correspondent Donie O’Sullivan for the upcoming special MisinfoNation: White Genocide. When told the U.S. is expected to become a minority-white nation within two decades, Musk pushed back aggressively, warning it would be “a very, very bad thing to happen.”
He argued such a shift would send America “down,” questioning why anyone would want that. “You don’t like technology?” he asked. “You want to go back to the jungle?”
In the episode, O’Sullivan examines why the idea of a supposed white genocide in South Africa has gained such traction among some Americans who fear the demographic shifts that could soon make white people a minority in the US. The claim has even influenced US politics, with President Trump citing it as a reason to offer refugee status to white South Africans.
Pressed further on whether he truly believed the country would collapse if whites fell below 50 percent, Musk doubled down. “Of course,” he replied. “If you take South Africa, we have a small white population that projects European culture. What we learned from Europe.”
O’Sullivan then challenged him on South Africa’s history, pointing out that white rule oppressed millions of Black people for decades under Apartheid. Musk dismissed the claim outright. “No! How do you oppress? We gave them work, we fed them. They grew from a tiny little group into a massive group. That’s not oppression, that’s feeding them,” he said. “You only grow big if you get fed enough with this nonsense.”
When O’Sullivan noted he may not have seen oppression because he was white, Musk said simply: “We never saw this oppression you’re talking about.”
The interview forms part of O’Sullivan’s exploration of narratives around “white genocide,” a claim amplified by President Donald Trump and echoed by some on the American right, including Elon Musk, who have argued that white South Africans face existential threats. The full special airs on Sunday 8pm ET on CNN.
