After the first phase of Lok Sabha elections that was conducted on April 19, all eyes are now on the second phase of polling that is scheduled for April 26.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will conduct election on Tuesday and on Wednesday in Chattisgarh’s Surguja, Mahasamund and Janjgir-Champa constituencies. The Prime Minister will start his campaign at the Raigarh airstrip before moving to Baradwar village located in Janjgir-Champa.

Ahead of the second rounds, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s candidate from Gujarat’s Surat, Mukesh Dalal, secured a miraculous win in the Lok Sabha elections unopposed, after the nomination paper of Congress candidate was rejected and other candidates withdrew from the race.

In other news, BJP leader from Karnataka KS Eshwarappa was expelled for six years from the party on Monday, for rebelling against it by contesting as an Independent from the Shivamogga Lok Sabha seat.

After violence hit the first phase of elections in Manipur, repolling was held in 11 booths of the state on April 22, as per the order of the Election Commission. The entire process was conducted under tight security.

The second phase of polls will witness voting in 89 constituencies from 12 States and one Union Territory.
