The BJP posted a stream of jibes at the Congress and Rahul Gandhi on Friday as the NDA registered an emphatic victory in the Bihar Assembly elections, turning its social media handles into a meme-heavy celebration.

One of the sharpest barbs came from the party’s Assam unit, which mocked Rahul Gandhi by calling him the “national child" on Children’s Day.

“Thank you Bihar. We will again celebrate together in 2026," the Assam BJP posted on X.

In another post, it added, “We sincerely apologise for upsetting the ‘national child’ on Children’s Day. Truly unfortunate."

The BJP’s West Bengal unit chimed in as well, declaring on X: “Next West Bengal."

The party’s central handle took a broader swipe at Congress, saying, “95 defeats and still counting. RaGa is collecting electoral losses like limited-edition badges. And whenever the scoreboard looks rough, there’s always a new blame target. But the nation has read the script — it’s FAKE. If losing were a competitive sport, the trophy cabinet would be full."

Meanwhile, the BJP-led NDA achieved a sweeping mandate in Bihar, winning close to 200 out of 243 seats. At the time of writing this news article, counting of votes are still underway and numbers may change in the final announcement.

The BJP itself emerged as the single largest party, posting an almost 95 per cent strike rate.

The Mahagathbandhan, comprising the RJD, Congress, and Left parties, appeared headed for a heavy defeat, far from pre-poll surveys that had projected Tejashwi Yadav as a frontrunner for the chief minister’s post.

As results firmed up, the Opposition bloc struggled to cross even 35 seats.
