As the Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Friday comfortably crossed the halfway mark in the early trends, leading itself to a decisive victory in Bihar, Union Minister Giriraj Singh declared that the triumph belongs to the BJP and predicted the party’s next win in Bengal.

“Those who understand Bihar know that the people of Bihar do not want ‘jungle raj’ (lawlessness). Bihar’s people do not want anarchy, nor do they want to hand over power to corrupt leaders," the Union Minister said.

“Since day one of the elections, I have been saying that an NDA government will be formed and the trends are also visible. The results will come and I am saying that Bihar’s victory is ours, now it’s Bengal’s turn," Singh added.

Available leads show the BJP-led NDA has crossed the majority mark of 122 seats in the 243-member Bihar assembly and is currently leading in 160 seats. Meanwhile, the opposition Mahagathbandhan, led by Tejashwi Yadav’s RJD, is ahead in 78 seats. Poll strategist Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj is leading in two seats.
