The NDA looks set for a sweeping victory in the Bihar elections, decimating the Mahagathbandhan. Here are the top five candidates who won by the narrowest margins.

Bihar Assembly Election 2025: It is a big day for the Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar, as current trends show the alliance cruising towards a landslide victory with leads in 204 seats of the state’s 243 seats. However, for some candidates, the contest ended in a nail-biting finish.

The contest in Sandesh was the tightest in Bihar so far, with JD(U) candidate Radha Charan Sah defeating RJD’s Dipu Singh by a razor-thin margin of only 27 votes. Let’s have a look at five candidates who won by the slimmest margins.

Sandesh: JD(U)’s Radha Charan Sah defeated RJD’s Dipu Singh by a margin of only 27 votes. Sah got 80,598 votes (43.99%), while Singh won 80,571 votes (43.97%) in the most thrilling contest.Agiaon: BJP’s Mahesh Paswan emerged as the victor, defeating CPI(ML)(L)’s Shiv Prakash Ranjan by a margin of only 95 votes. Paswan polled 69,412 votes (45.2%) and Ranjan got 69,317 votes (45.14%).Dhaka: RJD’s Faisal Rahman managed to defeat BJP’s Pawan Kumar Jaiswal by a slim margin of 178 votes. Rahman polled 112,727 votes (45.72%), while Jaiswal won 112,549 votes (45.64%).Forbesganj: Congress candidate Manoj Bishwas defeated BJP’s Vidya Sagar Keshari by a margin of 221 votes. Bishwas managed to gain 120,114 votes (47.77%), and Keshari got 119,893 votes (47.68%).Balrampur: LJP (Ram Vilas) candidate Sangita Devi defeated AIMIM’s Mohammad Adil Hasan by a margin of 389 votes. Devi polled 80,459 votes (29.04%), and Hasan got 79,141 votes (28.56%).
